MELANIE MASSU

ABOUT ME
My name is Melanie Massu, and I am a dedicated film major with aspirations of becoming a film director. From a young age, my fascination with movies extended beyond just watching them; I was captivated by the intricate process of filmmaking. As the youngest of four siblings and a proud dog owner, my family and pets have always been a significant part of my journey.
Anchor 1
As a filmmaker, I feel conflicted between using films as a form of escape versus a reflection of reality. I believe it is important to watch movies that make us look around and confront the world we live in, not just distract us from it. For me, storytelling isn’t just about entertaning people, but about shedding light on the complicated world around us.
My experiences having grown up in Honduras have inspired me to create stories that explore resilience and the struggles of living in an unforgiving world. I want my films to be the lens that makes people think more critically and realistically about the world around them.
